"I'd asked around 10 or 15 people for suggestions. Finally one lady friend asked the right question, 'Well, what do you love most?' That's how I started painting money." - Andy Warhol
Artist Statement
As an artist, I enjoy drawing, now that's very obvious, but to me when I am told to draw, it doesn't feel like work, and I enjoy the struggle that creating a piece may or may not be. Even if I spend my whole weekend on something, when I reach my end goal, the feeling is very rewarding. To be able to show something I worked extremely hard on to people and have them appreciate it makes me feel happy. It might be just me, but art makes me feel like I can do anything, even if I feel discouraged, or even if I mess up, there is always a way to fix the problem. One of the best parts of art in my opinion, is that everyone is able to do it. It doesn't matter if you're not able to draw a perfect replica of a water bottle, even if you can only draw stick figures, I assure you there will always be a famous artist who started off doing exactly that, but to be able to do well, and progress, you just need to believe in yourself. Art isn't about how good your piece is, it's about what the piece means to you.
